On June 23, at the annual conference of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in Houston, Roland Charneux, Director at Pageau Morel, received the Distinguished Service Award (DSA). The award salutes members who have served the Society faithfully and with distinction and who have given freely of their time and talent for the benefit of ASHRAE.
Actively involved in ASHRAE since the early 1990s, Roland Charneux served this technical reference locally in the Montreal Chapter, as a regional representative on committees (Region II – Eastern Canada) and by participating on several technical committees, including TC 9.10 Laboratory Systems and TC 9.11 Clean Spaces. He has even cowritten design guides for these two former committees. ASHRAE elevated Roland Charneux to the grade of Fellow in 2005, conferred on only 1% of its active members.
The DSA is Roland Charneux’s second award this year; in May, he won the 2018 Grand Prix d’excellence, the highest distinction given by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec to one of its members. In 2015, he was inducted into the ASHRAE Montreal Hall of Fame. This honour is given to a Montreal Chapter member for their outstanding involvement.
Pageau Morel wishes to congratulate and to thank Roland Charneux for his exceptional contribution and impact on the industry and within the company. He has mentored the next generation with passion and leadership and promoted the firm’s core values with integrity throughout his entire career. This fine recognition can be added to the collection of awards he has received in recent years, demonstrating once again his profound technical expertise and his inestimable value to the profession.
