On May 30, at the Soirée de l’excellence en génie of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), Roland Charneux, Director at Pageau Morel, won the 2018 Grand Prix d’excellence, the highest distinction awarded by the OIQ to one of its members. This prestigious prize is bestowed upon a Québec engineer in recognition of his or her visionary qualities, innovative achievements, and social commitment.
Renowned engineer, Roland Charneux has always strongly focused on designing energy-efficient buildings. He is, without a doubt, an outstanding figure by virtue of his humility, righteousness, professionalism and passion for engineering. Throughout his career, he has left a significant legacy by mentoring and training a generation of young engineers. As a testament to his skills and the high quality of his projects, Roland Charneux has received more than 25 awards for projects he has worked on, including nine Technology Awards from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (international awards).
“Roland has significantly helped improve the field of building engineering, notably through his involvement within technical committees. He is the epitome of integrity and a reference for what an engineer should be throughout his or her career,” says Nicolas Lemire, President of Pageau Morel.
